The Legacy Golden Power Staff will include electronic lights and sounds features and be in-scale with the actual Staff used in-show.
For the past several years, Bandai has released a new weapon of choice as part of their Legacy Battle Gear toy line, with weapons ranging from all across Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – including the Blade Blaster, Saba, and most recently, the Red Ranger’s Power Sword.
In 2018, the Legacy Battle Gear line will finally depart Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for the succeeding season, Power Rangers Zeo. And the Gold Ranger’s primary weapon, the Golden Power Staff, will take center stage as it sees its first in-store release since 1996.
The Gold Zeo Ranger was portrayed by actor Austin St. John, as he reprised his role as Jason Scott to don spandex of a new color. In Power Rangers Zeo, Jason wielded his Golden Power Staff to take down King Mondo and an army of Cogs, and in 2018, fans will be able to do the same.
Bandai first launched their toy line of Legacy Battle Gear in 2014, a line of premium re-releases of classic Power Rangers weapons from past seasons.
The news was confirmed by Saban Brands and Bandai at the Power Rangers Toys & Collectibles Power Hour panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.
