With Lionsgate’s marketing of the upcoming Power Rangers movie revealing new content at an incredibly slow pace, many fans have been quick to doubt the studio’s confidence in the upcoming feature film.
But according to Lionsgate president Erik Feig, naysayers should have nothing to worry about.
At Lionsgate’s first ever Investors Day on Tuesday, Feig promised that while the company continues to “exercise its financial discipline”, Power Rangers was the one movie he remains “particularly optimistic about”, via Variety.
While no further comment was offered, Feig did note that the Power Rangers movie’s teaser-trailer has been incredibly successful, surpassing more than 150 million views in its first 48 hours last October. Since then, it’s been nearly four months since fans have seen any new content, creating an online sensation craving for more.
Aside from Power Rangers, Lionsgate was also on hand to promote their upcoming movies Kingkiller Chronicle, and Robin Hood, while also taking time to revel in the success of La La Land’s record breaking night at the Golden Globe Awards.
Lionsgate’s Power Rangers movie hits theaters on March 24, 2017. Be sure to follow Power Rangers NOW on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates.
