There’s the MLB, and then there’s the MLB’s Minor League – a development league owned by Major League Baseball consisting of teams with players looking to refine their skills in hopes of being called up to baseball’s highest pro association.
On August 13, one of those teams, the Lowell Spinners, celebrated Power Rangers Night by representing the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Blue Ranger!
For the first time ever, a major league-associated sports team wore jerseys designed to represent the original Mighty Morphin Blue Power Ranger. And immediately following the game, jerseys were autographed and auctioned off to fans in attendance at LeLacheur Park.
The Blue Ranger was also in attendance, as the suit actor made appearances throughout the park to take photos with fans.
The game saw the Spinners go on to take down the Auburn Doubledays with a mighty morphin 12-3 win.
Affiliated with the Boston Red Sox, the Lowell Spinners are located in Massachusetts.
Earlier in the year, a minor league NBA team wore Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger jerseys to celebrate Nickelodeon Night (recap here), making the Spinners the second minor league team in 2017 to don Power Rangers-themed jerseys.
This is so cool. We need football and hockey to do a Ranger now.
The Blue Ranger was also in attendance, as the suit actor custom writing services
made appearances throughout the park to take photos with fans.
