Hasbro’s Power Rangers Lightning Collection is set to induct some new heroes!
At Hasbro’s Brand Entertainment Preview Breakfast event at San Diego Comic Con 2019, the company unveiled its first Lightning Collection two-pack set to hit retailers this fall. The two-pack includes the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Green Ranger in his “Fighting Spirit Form” – complete with the helmet’s silver stripe.
The Green Ranger will come bundled with a Putty Patrol Lightning Collection action figure, set to retail at $39.99 at an exclusive store yet to be determined.
Fans can check out the first photos of the new action figures below.
Joining both of these new Lightning Collection figure additions are the previously announced Goldar and Mighty Morphin Armored Black Ranger, both of which will release in fall 2019 at Gamestop and Walgreens respectively.
Hasbro also officially announced, for the first time, the complete Wave 2 of Lightning Collection action figures, which includes the long-rumored:
• Pink Ranger, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
• Magna Defender, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
• Red Ranger, Power Rangers Beast Morphers
• Gold Ranger, Power Rangers Beast Morphers
Wave 2 will hit all mass retailers in fall 2019.
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pink Ranger Lightning Collection figure will only include a human head for Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger, as Hasbro cites a desire to “celebrate one character at a time”. Fans will have to wait to find out how they can acquired a human head for Katherine Hillard down the line.
The Magna Defender Lightning Collection figure will not include any human head as Hasbro says their plan was to based the toy off of the original Magna Defender character, before Mike took over.
Each Lightning Collection action figure retails at $19.99.
The Power Rangers Lightning Collection is a line of action figures with an emphasis on quality. The line will span over time to include action figures based on different Power Rangers heroes and villains, each with a premium design.
Each action figure will include weapons, accessories, and swappable heads. Some figures, where necessary, could include multiple accessories or swappable heads.

Action figures in the Lightning Collection line will stand at 6 inches tall, and feature 27 points of articulation. Hasbro will also be including optional special effects with each figure.
The brand new toy line will be Hasbro’s equivalent to Marvel’s Legends line, or Star Wars’ Black Series line. Many fans will liken it to Bandai America’s previous Power Rangers Legacy line.
The strategy marks a different approach from Bandai’s, the former maker of Power Rangers toys from 1993-2018. While Bandai planned its Legacy Figure waves around the release of complete seasons, Hasbro appears unafraid to jump across all 25 years of the Power Rangers timeline. Some fans may be excited to see representation from every point in Power Rangers history (with villains included), while others may grow weary of the possibility that they may never see complete teams released.

Am I the only one who thinks the stripes on the helmet are ugly?
Am I the only one who thinks the stripes on the helmet are ugly?
The stripes are ugly. Putty looks great though!
That Magna Defender figure is perfect, I just wish it came with Mike’s head.
Well, we havent seen the full displays of the figures yet so, Mike’s head is still a posibility.
Umm why they put the silver stripes on helmet that is not correct. They didn’t do that with other fig.
the helmet with the stripes appeared in the power rangers dino thunder episode fighting spirit. i am sure they will release him without the stripes eventually.
As much as I don’t want to see green ranger’s silver stripe, I WANT THIS SET! I mean seriously guys, THEY GAVE US THE SWORD OF DARKNESS WITH THE CORRECT PAINT JOB! I have to have this set for my PR collection! Now I await a Hasbro Dragon Zord along with a Hasbro power morpher and power coins.
In the 2nd slide show, why is there no Beast Morphers Red?
