Lionsgate’s Power Rangers movie hits theaters on March 24, but fans can be the first to see it on March 23!
The official Power Rangers movie Instagram account (@powerrangersmovie) confirmed that early screenings of the film will begin in theaters on March 23.
“50 days til the #PowerRangersMovie crashes into theaters! – March 24, 2017 #ItsMorphinTime”
“Be one of the first to see! Early showings starting March 23!”
The exact time of the early showings remains unconfirmed, but if the film follows the footsteps of other major Hollywood blockbusters, fans can expect screenings to kick off at 7pm.
For years now, early 7pm Thursday evening screenings have become the new “midnight premiere”, offering studios a few advantages. For one, it allows many diehard fans who can’t make the infamous 12:01 screening a chance to see the movie early. And in the process of allowing those diehard fans earlier access, the hope is that it will create more positive marketing by word of mouth.
Of course the earlier screenings also allos studios to get a jump on opening weekend and midnight premiere sales, in addition to helping movie theaters push more Thursday evening concessions.
